A fan of the classics, Alissa has played roles from just about every Shakespeare play you could think of, notably Juliet in Romeo and Juliet, a fiery Beatrice in Much Ado About Nothing, and the Witch in Macbeth. Apart from the Bard, Alissa is classically trained in ballet and has choreographed and assistant directed for community theaters in their hometown of Charlottesville Virginia.
Since moving to New York City in 2018, Alissa has graduated from the American Musical and Dramatic Academy with a certificate in Musical Theater. In the wake of COVID-19, Alissa founded their own theater company performing outdoor cabaret series around the city to keep the heart of the city alive in the absence of live theater.
Alissa plans to build a career playing or creating non-binary characters on the stage and screen, and by doing so hopes to create a safer space in the arts for non-binary and queer artists.
